Why do rigs need beads and sleeves?

An anti-tangle sleeve slides onto the leader or line above the lead clip or swivel. On the cast it holds the hooklink away from the leader, so the rig lands straight instead of wrapping around the lead.

Soft silicone beads protect knots and act as stops on helicopter and chod set-ups. Silicone rubbers hold items such as a rig ring or the hook position in place.

Match the sleeve length to your rig: around 40 mm is common. Choose the colour to suit the bottom, as green, brown and black blend into different lake beds. Carry a few shades so you can match each water.
