In carp fishing the rods often sit on the rests for hours, and a take can come at any moment. A bite alarm signals every movement of the line with sound and light, while an indicator shows you which way the line is moving. In this category you will find bite alarms, receivers and accessories, as well as bobbins, hangers, swingers and weights. Together they make up the bite indication system on every carp rod.

A bite alarm is fitted to a bankstick or rod pod as the front rest, with the line running over its sensor. When the line moves, the alarm gives an audible and a visual signal. Adjustable sensitivity, volume and tone help you tell the rods apart and set the alarm up for wind and choppy water.
Wireless alarms work together with a receiver, so you hear a take even inside the bivvy or away from the rods. In a ready-made set the alarms and receiver are matched to each other, while a single alarm lets you add to an existing setup. In accessories you will find protective cases, fittings and spare parts, among other things.
An indicator is clipped onto the line between the alarm and the reel. It keeps the line under the right tension and shows whether the fish is running away from you or swimming towards the bank, in which case the line goes slack and the indicator drops. A bobbin or hanger hangs on the line from a chain or cord and is particularly suited to short and medium range.
A swinger moves on a rigid arm, so it stays steady in the wind and on flowing water. Adding weights increases line tension, which helps at long range and when fishing with heavy leads.
Choose the indicator weight to suit the distance you are fishing and the conditions on the day. Match the colour of the alarm LED to the indicator on each rod and you will know which rod is going straight away, even at night.
