How do you use distance sticks?

Push the sticks into the ground at a fixed spacing and walk the line around them. One wrap is twice the gap between the sticks. Once you know how many wraps a spot is, you can put the same length on every rod.

First find the spot with a marker float and clip up. Then wrap the marker rod around the sticks and count the wraps. Finally wrap your hookbait and spod rods to the same count and clip them up.

Measuring pays off at night and in wind, when you cannot rely on a far-bank marker to hit the same spot. Note the wraps and the skyline marker so you can find the spot quickly next time.
