What do you need for bait preparation?

A bucket with a lid is a basic piece of carp kit: you use it to carry and store bait, soak particles and mix up your spod mix. Several buckets or a nesting set keep different baits apart, and the lid keeps moisture in and smells out of the car.

A riddle separates the fine material from the larger pieces in a mix, and a mixing bowl makes it easy to dampen pellets and groundbait evenly. A shallow, wide bowl is handy when you are filling PVA bags or a spod on the bank.

A boilie crusher breaks baits into pieces of different sizes that spread over a wider area and release their attraction faster than whole boilies. A boilie cutter halves or quarters your baits when you want smaller food items for a PVA bag or a baiting spoon.

Clean your kit after every session so that old bait residue does not spoil your next mix.
