Throwing sticks and catapults are the quickest ways to spread boilies over a spot without a separate rod. This section covers short and long range throwing sticks in several bore sizes and baiting catapults. They suit boilie baiting in the margins and at medium range.

Pick the tube diameter to suit your boilies: the bore needs to be slightly wider than the bait so it leaves the stick cleanly. A 20 mm stick, for example, suits baits of around 15-18 mm, while bigger boilies need a wider tube.
A long carbon stick throws further, a short one is more accurate and easier to use close in. Throwing sticks work best with hard, well-dried boilies, as soft baits can split on the throw.
A catapult is the tool for pellets, particles and small boilies. It lets you drop a tight pile of bait alongside a reed bed or onto the surface. Keep your action consistent so every pouchful lands on the same spot.
