When is a baiting spoon the right choice?

A spoon puts the bait exactly where you want it without a splash, which matters in margin fishing. When carp are patrolling right under the bank, quiet baiting keeps them from spooking off the spot.

A spoon with holes drains off water and suits wet particles and spod mix. A solid spoon also carries liquids and fine groundbait. Pick the size to suit the amount of bait, as a big spoon gets heavy at the end of a long pole.

Spoons usually screw onto a landing net handle or a dedicated baiting pole. A long handle reaches further, a shorter one is easier to control. Check the thread matches the pole you plan to use.
