A spod or baiting rocket takes your bait far from the bank, beyond the range of a catapult or throwing stick. They are cast on a dedicated rod and reel and release their load when they hit the water. In this group you will find open spods and sealed baiting rockets for different amounts of bait and different mixes.
A traditional spod is an open-ended baiting rocket that you fill with particles, pellets or crushed boilies. When it hits the water it flips over and empties its contents on the surface, and the bait sinks to the bottom.
A sealed model only opens on impact with the water, so the contents stay put during the cast. That makes it a good choice for finer and wetter mixes that would spray out of an open spod in flight.
When choosing a size, think about how much bait you want to deliver with each cast and how heavy a load your rod and reel can handle. A slim, streamlined model usually flies more steadily and further, while a larger one carries more bait per cast.
Always hit the same spot by measuring the distance and putting the line in the reel's line clip. That way your bait ends up exactly where your rig is.
