Why crush or chop your boilies?

A crushed boilie leaks flavour faster than a whole one, and the mix of sizes keeps carp moving around the spot. Boilie crumb works well in spod mixes and PVA bags, so the hookbait matches the food around it.

The coarseness of the crusher shapes the result. Coarse crumb stays on the bottom for longer, while fine crumb creates a cloud. Many crushers let you adjust the setting or run baits through twice.

A cutter splits boilies into halves or quarters. Halves do not roll on a slope and release flavour from the cut face. Clean the crusher after use so old bait does not go mouldy in the blades.
