Pellets and particles form the backbone of carp baiting, drawing fish into the swim and holding them there. In this group you will find carp and halibut pellets, micro pellets, and tiger nuts, seeds and grains. They are used for baiting, in PVA bags and as hookbaits.
Carp and halibut pellets break down in the water and spread oil and attraction across the bottom. Halibut pellets are oilier and work particularly well in warm water. The larger pellets also make good hookbaits when fixed with a bait band.
Micro pellets are small and break down quickly. They suit PVA bags, spod mixes and method feeding, and they keep carp grubbing around on the bottom for a long time, searching for every last piece.
Tiger nuts, seeds and grains are a cost-effective way to feed heavily. Hemp, corn and other particles keep fish in the swim because there are so many individual items to find. Dry particles must always be properly soaked and cooked before use to make them safe for the fish.
Mix pellets and particles so that your baiting contains both fast-acting and longer-lasting elements, and adjust the amount to the time of year and how actively the fish are feeding.
