Groundbait, mixes and liquids boost your carp baiting and your hookbait. In this group you will find groundbait, stick mix and spod mix as well as glugs, liquid foods and oils. With them you create an attractive smell and cloud in the swim that draws the fish towards your rig.
Groundbait binds your baiting together and forms an attractive cloud in the water. Stick mix is a fine mix you pack into PVA mesh or a PVA bag to create a tight parcel of bait next to the rig. Spod mix is a ready blend made for delivering with a spod.
Glugs are thick liquids you dip or soak your hookbaits in. They add smell and taste and help the hookbait stand out from the free offerings around it. Liquid foods and oils are mixed into pellets, particles or groundbait and spread attraction a long way through the water.
In cold water the metabolism of the fish slows down, and liquids become more important because the attraction spreads through the water without the need for large amounts of bait that the fish may not eat.
When using PVA products, check that your liquids are PVA friendly, because a water-based liquid will melt the bag before you have even cast it out.
