Lever drag or star drag for trolling?

On a lever drag reel, the drag is pre-set and a lever moves it quickly from free spool to fighting position. The drag stays smooth through the whole fight, which matters on long runs from big fish. A star drag reel is a simple, tough choice for lighter trolling.

A level wind lays line evenly across the spool, and a line counter shows how much line is out, so you can repeat a lure depth precisely.
