Penn Squall II Lever Drag 40 is a lightweight and ergonomic lever drag reel with a graphite frame, which is light and corrosion resistant. Size 40 has a gear ratio of 5.3:1 and a max drag of 9.0 kg.
The reel has a one-piece graphite frame and palm sideplate. Despite the light frame, the drivetrain is robust: the main and pinion gears are stainless steel, and the drag is the Penn Dura-Drag system. The spool is forged and machined aluminium and has Line Capacity Rings that show how much line is on the spool.
The Pull-to-Turn preset knob has to be pulled out before it can be turned, so the drag preset is not changed by accident. The Squall II suits for example nearshore trolling, and the series covers sizes 25N-60 plus a high speed 40N HS model.
