How do you choose the right pole elastic?

Choose elastic to suit the target fish and the hooklength strength. Elastics are usually numbered by strength: low numbers suit roach and small fish, high numbers and hollow elastics suit carp.

Solid elastic is traditional and soft. Hollow elastic stretches further and stiffens as it stretches, making it ideal for bigger fish and puller kits.

A connector joins the rig to the elastic. Pole clips and line connectors make rig changes quick, and a tip connector is standard on whips and telescopic poles.

Check elastic tension at the start of each session and replace worn elastic in good time.
