How to choose a reel-less telescopic pole

A whip is a light, stiff telescopic pole with the line tied directly to the tip. It is used for catching small fish quickly close to the bank, and you can swing each fish straight to hand without slowing down.

A telescopic fishing pole is the traditional choice for the lakeside and the summer cottage. Its length decides how far out you can put the bait: a short pole is handy on a jetty, while a longer one reaches the edge of the reeds and slightly deeper water.

Children's poles are short and light, so even young anglers can hold them comfortably for a whole session by the water.

A broken tip does not have to mean a new pole. Replacement tips and other spare parts can often get it fishing again quickly, as long as you check the dimensions in the product description first.
