Holdall, quiver or rod sleeve?

A rod holdall is a padded bag that usually takes several rods with the reels left on. When rods travel ready rigged, you can start fishing soon after reaching the bank. Holdall pockets also take banksticks, the landing net handle and other long items.

A quiver is a lighter and simpler option that suits short sessions and anglers who move around a lot. Rods, banksticks and an umbrella go in quickly and the whole lot goes over your shoulder.

Single rod sleeves protect one rod at a time, for example in the boot of the car or inside a holdall, and a reel protector stops the reel from getting knocked or dirty.

Before choosing the size, check the length of your rods and whether you carry them fully assembled or broken down. A holdall that fits your rods properly keeps tips and guides safe on the way to the swim.
