Rod straps keep rod sections and lines neatly together in transport and storage. Neoprene straps will not scratch the blank and fasten quickly with hook-and-loop. They suit anyone carrying several rods to the bank at once.

When you break a rod down or carry two rods side by side, a rod strap binds them together so the sections do not rub and the lines do not tangle. One strap usually goes near the handle and another towards the tip.
Neoprene is a good material as it is soft, stretchy and grips even when wet. Hook-and-loop fastening is easy to open with cold fingers, and a wide strap spreads the pressure without stressing the guides.
Keep a few spare straps in your bag: they are also handy for securing rods on a rest or in a boat. Neatly bundled rods fit far more easily into the car and the holdall.
