A carp rod is chosen to suit the size of the water, the casting distance and the way you like to fish. In this group you will find all-round carp rods, long range rods, compact stalking rods and retractable and travel rods. That way you can find the right rod for a big lake as easily as for a small pond.

An all-round carp rod is a safe first choice. It casts a single rig or a small PVA bag to medium range and is soft enough to keep the fight under control, so it works well on most lakes and rivers.
A long range rod is stiffer and can load a heavier lead. It is at home on big waters where the fish feed far from the bank or where a strong wind is blowing into your face, and it keeps contact with the rig at distance.
A compact stalking rod is short and light. It is the tool for small waters, weedy swims and margin fishing, where a long rod would only get in the way and you need to react quickly when a fish moves in.
Retractable and travel rods pack down to a short length, so they travel easily in a car, on public transport or in a suitcase for a trip abroad.
When choosing, look at the test curve, length and guides in relation to your reel and line. When all your fishing rods are the same model, every cast and every take feels the same.
