Fishing combo or spod and marker combo?

A carp rod and reel combo is meant for the fishing itself. The reel is usually a freespool or big pit model, so a carp can take line while the rod rests on the pod. A combo suits a newcomer and also works well as an extra rod for an experienced angler.

A spod and marker combo is a working tool. A stiff rod and a large reel handle the heavy casts of a full spod, and with a marker lead and float you can map depth and bottom type before your rigs go into the water.

If you mostly fish short sessions on small waters, fishing combos will take you a long way. On big waters and during long sessions, a dedicated spod and marker combo makes baiting more accurate and spares your fishing rods from the heavy work.
