A bivvy is the carp angler's tent, with room for a bedchair and your essential kit and a clear view of the rods. In this group you will find 1 man bivvies as well as 2 man and XL bivvies. The right choice depends on whether you fish alone or with a friend, and how long your sessions are.

A 1 man bivvy is light to carry and quick to put up. It takes a bedchair and the essentials, and it works well when you move swims often or carry everything in one trip.
2 man and XL bivvies give you room for two anglers, or for one angler who wants to keep all the kit under cover. On long sessions the extra space makes life in camp more comfortable.
Check at least how the bivvy is pitched, the size of the door and how waterproof the fabric is. On many bivvies the front opens up completely, so you have a clear view of the rods. In cold weather an overwrap or skull cap reduces condensation and keeps the warmth in.
Put a new bivvy up once at home before your first trip, and setting up on the bank will go smoothly, even in the dark.
