Westin W4 W-SW 5000 HSG is a saltwater spinning reel for powerful, fast-running warm water species. In size 5000 the gear ratio is 6.2:1, line capacity 0.35 mm / 360 m and maximum drag 9 kg. This is the high speed HSG version.
The body and rotor are rigid aluminium (K-Alloy), so they do not flex under heavy load and the gears stay aligned. The reel has 5+1 sealed stainless ball bearings, 14 seals and an IPX5 rating. The sealed stainless instant anti-reverse engages the moment a fish strikes.
The main gear is CNC machined aluminium, and the sealed Carbon Matrix drag has three washers.
The forged, double anodised aluminium spool is braid-ready and resists corrosion. The machined aluminium handle has a non-slip TPE knob, and the reel also features a rotor brake.
