Penn Mag4 Star Drag 525 is a conventional reel designed for long range beach casting. With its greater line capacity, size 525 is according to the manufacturer the choice for long range beach fishing and mixed ground. Gear ratio is 6.1:1 and max drag 9.0 kg.
Casting is controlled with a magnetic brake adjusted by finger via an external extended knob. The Live Spindle with a free floating spool lets the spool run free of restriction, making long casts easy and trouble free.
The reel runs on 6+1 shielded stainless steel ball bearings with premium oiled spool bearings. The main and pinion gears are stainless steel (CNC Gear technology), the spool is forged and machined aluminium, and the drag uses the Versa Drag system with HT-100 washers. The frame and sideplates are lightweight graphite, and the Fast Gear Access sideplate makes maintenance easier.
