Penn Authority 6500 is a saltwater spinning reel with an IPX8 sealed body and spool: no water reaches the internals, even if the reel is submerged. Size 6500 has a gear ratio of 5.2:1 and a max drag of 18.1 kg.
The Authority series offers a size and gear ratio for many situations, from inshore waters to the open ocean. The reel has a full metal body, sideplate and rotor, and the precision-cut main and pinion gears made with CNC Gear technology are stainless steel. It runs on a 12+1 stainless steel bearing system.
The drag is the sealed Slammer drag system with Dura-Drag washers. The Leveline slow oscillation system lays line evenly on the spool. The handle can be switched for right or left hand retrieve, and a spare Hypalon handle knob is included.
