Why should you riddle your groundbait?

Wetted groundbait easily forms lumps that break down unevenly in the water. Riddling breaks them up and aerates the mix, so it binds in a controlled way and breaks down on the bottom just as it should.

Mesh size decides the result. Around 3mm suits most groundbaits, a finer mesh light float mixes and a coarser one mixes with particles.

Choose a round riddle to match your bucket diameter so it sits securely on the rim. A small method sieve is handy for micro pellets and method mix.

A riddle also cleans maggots of sawdust before you fish.
