Penn Battalion III Popping Spinning 7'8" 250g 130lb is a heavy-duty popping rod for topwater fishing for large saltwater species such as tarpon, jackfish, tuna, dorado, barracuda and giant trevally. Length is 7'8" (approx. 2.34 m), casting weight 250 g and line rating 130 lb.
The slim and light blank is made from a blend of high-quality carbon fibres. It has a progressive tip, a powerful mid-section and a stiff butt, giving sensitive bite detection and plenty of power for fighting fish. The action is designed to perform with both braided and monofilament lines.
The rod is fitted with original under-wrapped Fuji Alconite guides and a Fuji reel seat. It is the successor to the Penn Carnage Extreme popping rod.
