Seatbox or feeder chair?

A competition or feeder seatbox combines a seat with tackle storage. Floats, hooklengths and small items stay organised in the drawers, and adjustable legs level the seat even on a sloping bank. You can add a footplate, side trays and support arms to build a complete station.

Feeder and specialist chairs are lighter and quicker to set up. Adjustable legs, a backrest and mounting points for accessories make them a good choice for feeder fishing and for sessions where you carry your kit a long way to the water.

Choose your seat based on how much tackle you take and the kind of banks you fish. Try the seating height and check the weight, because you will often spend the whole day in the same position. With the seat at the right height, casting and playing fish work without needless reaching or twisting, even late in a long session.
