Rise Armament RA-1010 LM BCG .223 BN is a low-mass Bolt Carrier Group for AR-15 .223/5.56 systems, designed to reduce moving mass and improve controllability. Reduced motion energy during the firing cycle dampens the recoil feel and helps stay on target, while the total weight is only about 252 g (8.9 oz). The BN model's Black Nitride coating enhances wear resistance and reduces friction, and a Nickel Boron coating option is also available.
The BCG is precision machined and individually inspected for reliable operation. The Black Nitride finish is easy to clean and improves the strength and wear resistance of steel surfaces. The Nickel Boron coating option further reduces friction, enhances reliability, and makes cleaning even easier.
Material choices and finishes are made to withstand demanding use: the bolt is made of 9310 steel and MPI tested, the carrier is made of 8620 tool steel, heat treated and case hardened. The gas key is made of tool steel, attached with Grade 8 hardened fasteners and properly staked. The cam pin is made of 4140 steel, and the extractor is made of tool steel, shot peened for durability.
The lightweight construction makes the BCG compatible with lighter buffers, enabling controlled operation and aiding in rapid follow-up shots. Reduced reciprocating mass helps the shooter focus on better shot control without unnecessary motion energy.
