The KynSHOT RB5020SS Short Stroke is a hydraulic recoil buffer for competition pistol caliber carbines (PCC). It is longer and heavier than a standard buffer and shortens bolt travel (short stroke) for faster sight recovery and follow-up shots.
Developed in collaboration with Blitzkrieg Components, the buffer is tuned for lighter 9 mm competition loads. In a standard AR-15 carbine buffer tube it reduces bolt travel by 1.3" (33 mm), and in an AR-10/A5 carbine buffer tube by 0.5" (12.7 mm), with the option to shorten the stroke further with spacers. It is also compatible with PCCs using A1 or A2 fixed rifle-length stocks (9.5" / 241.3 mm internal depth).
The body is made from 17-4 stainless steel, and the buffer uses Mil-Spec hydraulic fluids and seals. According to the manufacturer, felt recoil is reduced by about 30%.

Note: With an AR-15 carbine buffer tube, a modified bolt may be required for proper trigger reset. For unmodified bolts, the manufacturer recommends an A5 buffer tube.
