MotorGuide Xi5 80lb FW 60" 24V Sonar - wireless bow electric motor. Xi5 is the legendary bow electric motor that started the story of MotorGuide's bow machines. The MotorGuide Xi5 bow electric motor has great features such as ready-to-use wireless features that allow anglers to have precise motor and steering control throughout the boat. The Xi5 is extremely quiet and moves smoothly, and the machines also have a renewed composite shaft that bends but does not break, thus not getting damaged even if it hits the bottom, for example. The composite shaft has a lifetime warranty. The new Pinpoint GPS technology is available as original equipment (certain GPS models) or easily retrofitted as an accessory.

FW means that the machine is a Freshwater model, meaning it is designed for fresh water, but in Finland, it doesn't matter much whether you use the FW or SW model. In Finland, seawater is brackish, so all warranties remain even if you use the FW model in seawater. The SW model has a more durable lower unit painting, so the machine itself withstands tougher use.
Most boats whose total weight with the motor and equipment exceeds the limit of an unbraked trailer should use 70lb or 80lb machines. Similarly, the rig length of the bow electric motor should also be 60" so that the bow electric motor reaches deep enough into the water. The biggest differences in the MotorGuide Xi3 bow electric motor are the greater thrust, which you will notice especially in strong autumn winds. The mount is externally similar, but in the Xi5 machine, the machine lock is more robust than in the Xi3 bow electric motor.
All bow electric motors we sell have a GPS anchor and a wireless remote control, and this model also comes with a foot pedal. All MotorGuide Xi3 and Xi5 bow electric motors include the readiness to connect a Lowrance touchscreen to the bow electric motor and use the screen to control the bow electric motor. If Lowrance is not a touchscreen, connection is not possible. Touchscreen models have an NMEA2000 bus where the link is made.
- This model includes a transducer integrated into the bottom of the bow electric motor. It fits directly into all Lowrance 7-pin sonar ports but can also be connected to other fishfinders with an adapter. The transducer is a 200khz 2D transducer.
MotorGuide's own Pinpoint GPS technology achieves incredibly precise performance using precise GPS reception and control algorithms. With two GPS antennas, Motor Guide PinPoint also keeps your boat in the correct position and does not allow it to rotate when using the GPS anchor, unlike other competing models. GPS technology is controlled via a wireless controller, which includes the following functions: increase speed, decrease speed, course lock, anchor/route memory, GPS anchor, cruise control, propeller on/off, turn left, turn right, manual control, replay route.

Power connectors (Marinco, Scotty, or MotorGuide) that allow you to easily connect power to the bow machine. - We recommend considering installing an aluminum mounting plate under the quick-release mount. This facilitates installation, and thanks to the side-mounted installation plate, you can attach the bow electric motor to the side of the boat, making it easier to access the boat from the bow. When the bow electric motor is in the rest position, its shaft does not bend inside the boat when it is installed alongside.
