MotorGuide Xi5 105lb FW 72" 36V Sonar - wireless bow-mount trolling motor. Xi5 is the legendary bow-mount trolling motor that started the story of MotorGuide's trolling motors. The MotorGuide Xi5 bow-mount trolling motor has great features such as ready-to-use wireless features that allow anglers to have precise motor and steering control throughout the boat. The Xi5 is extremely quiet and silky smooth to move, and the motors also have a renewed composite shaft that bends but does not break, thus not getting damaged even if it hits the bottom, for example. FW means that the motor is a Freshwater model, meaning it is designed for fresh water, but in Finland, it does not matter much whether you use the FW or SW model. In Finland, seawater is brackish, so all warranties remain even if you use the FW model in seawater. The SW model has a more durable lower unit painting, so the motor itself withstands harder use.
MotorGuide Xi5 Freshwater 105lb 72'' is a 36-volt bow-mount trolling motor with a GPS anchor, capable of moving very large boats. Since the length of the boats using the 105lb motor is often long, the shaft must also be longer than traditionally. Otherwise, when the stern of the boat drops in the waves and the bow rises, a bow-mount trolling motor equipped with a shorter shaft will start "gasping" for air because the propeller rises to the surface. This causes problems with grip, and when the propeller falls back into the water, the motor has to make larger corrective movements.
All bow-mount trolling motors we sell have a GPS anchor and a wireless remote control, and this model also comes with a foot pedal. All MotorGuide Xi3 and Xi5 bow-mount trolling motors are ready to connect a Lowrance touchscreen to the bow-mount trolling motor and use the screen to control the bow-mount trolling motor. If the Lowrance display is not a touchscreen, connection is not possible. Touchscreen models have an NMEA2000 bus where the link is made.
- This model includes a transducer integrated into the bottom of the bow-mount trolling motor. It fits directly into all Lowrance 7-pin sonar ports but can also be connected to other sonars with an adapter. The transducer is a 200khz 2D transducer.
MotorGuide's own Pinpoint GPS technology achieves incredibly precise performance using precise GPS reception and accurate control algorithms. With two GPS antennas, Motor Guide PinPoint also keeps your boat in the correct position and does not allow it to rotate when using the GPS anchor, unlike other competing models. GPS technology is controlled via a wireless controller that includes the following functions: increase speed, decrease speed, course lock, anchor/route memory, GPS anchor, cruise control, propeller on/off, turn left, turn right, manual control, repeat route.

This facilitates installation, and with the side-mounted mounting plate, you can attach the bow-mount trolling motor to the side of the boat, making it easier to access the boat from the bow. When the bow-mount trolling motor is in the rest position, its shaft does not bend into the boat when it is mounted alongside.
