• With TracBack routing, find your way back if you happen to get lost.

• Stay on adventures longer with up to 14 days of battery life in 10-minute tracking mode.

Why would a boater use an inReach device? It works when your mobile phone does not, whether you are out on the open sea or in an archipelago with no mobile network coverage. inReach Mini 2 is rugged, so it will not break even in harsh weather, waves and rain. When you connect it to your boat's batteries with the included mount and power cable, the Garmin inReach Mini 2 stays on continuously. You can still easily take the device with you to an island, to the cottage or on a hike.

inReach Mini 2 is small, considerably smaller than traditional satellite phones, and the sturdy mount keeps the device in place on your boat. It goes with you everywhere with ease!

MARINE BUNDLE - The bundle includes a screw down mount and power cable, so you can mount your inReach device at your helm for easy access in a moment's notice.

TWO-WAY MESSAGING - Exchange text messages with loved ones back home, post to social media, or communicate inReach to inReach.

INTERACTIVE SOS ALERTS - In case of emergency, trigger an interactive SOS message to the Garmin IERCC, a 24/7 staffed emergency response coordination center.

LOCATION SHARING - Share your location with loved ones back home at any time by using your MapShare page or with your coordinates embedded in your messages.

GLOBAL SATELLITE NETWORK - Instead of relying on cellphone coverage, your messages, SOS alerts and location tracking are transferred via the global Iridium satellite network.

FLEXIBLE SATELLITE AIRTIME PLANS - To access the Iridium network and communicate with your inReach Mini 2, an active satellite subscription is required. You can opt for an annual package or a flexible month-to-month plan.

COMPACT, RUGGED DESIGN - Don't let the 4" x 2" size and 3.5 oz weight fool you. inReach Mini 2 is tough, durable, impact resistant (MIL-STD-810) and water-rated to IPX7.

AUGMENTED WITH ACCESSORIES - With the optional water-resistant case, bring your inReach Mini 2 satellite communicator on your dives or other off-boat adventures. It protects your inReach Mini 2 with a water rating of 10 ATM.

TRACBACK ROUTING - The TracBack routing feature navigates you back to your starting point the same way you came, should you get lost - right on your device.

DIGITAL COMPASS - Get accurate heading information - even when you're not moving.

BATTERY LIFE - The internal, rechargeable lithium battery gives you up to 14 days of use at the default 10-minute tracking mode and up to 30 days with a 30-minute tracking interval.

INREACH WEATHER FORECAST SERVICE - Get detailed weather updates on inReach Mini 2 or your paired compatible device. You can even request forecasts for your current location or other waypoints or destinations on your itinerary.

UNLIMITED CLOUD STORAGE AND TRIP PLANNING - Get free access to the cloud-powered Garmin Explore website on your computer to plan your trips, create preset messages and quick texts, sync and manage your device settings, and much more.

Iridium satellites - The original Iridium satellite system consists of 66 active satellites in six different orbital planes at an altitude of about 780 km. The orbital planes are inclined 84.6 degrees to the equator and each plane has 11 satellites. This way the system covers the entire globe, including the polar regions. In addition to the active satellites, a number of spare satellites also orbit the Earth. One satellite is visible above the horizon for about ten minutes. Data travels from satellite to satellite or alternatively via ground stations.

The Iridium satellites are used for telecommunications.
