Vector Optics Continental 6-48x56 ED is a riflescope built around a 6-48x magnification range, 56 mm objective and 34 mm main tube. The lower end of the zoom range helps with finding the target and retaining a wider view, while the upper end adds detail for more deliberate aiming. The model is intended primarily for benchrest, F-Class and long-range target shooting. The practical value of the zoom range is therefore not the maximum figure alone, but the ability to adapt one optic to different distances without changing the sighting system.
The optical package is based on ED glass, 8x zoom ratio and a large 56 mm objective. The reticle is the MIL Competition reticle and the focal plane is SFP. In an SFP design the apparent reticle size remains constant as magnification changes, which keeps the sight picture easy to read throughout the zoom range. If the reticle scale is used for ranging or hold corrections, the correct calibration magnification must still be observed. Real-world image quality also depends on light, weather, background contrast and the magnification used, so maximum magnification is not automatically the best choice in every situation.
The adjustment system is defined by precise MIL adjustments and repeatable turrets intended for competition use. Repeatable elevation and windage controls matter especially when distance changes and point of impact is corrected with the turrets rather than only with the reticle. The scope must be mounted with rings or a one-piece mount sized for the main tube, with sufficient objective clearance and correct eye relief. Final zero and any turret or reticle corrections should always be verified with the rifle and ammunition that will actually be used.
Vector Optics Continental 6-48x56 ED - Features:
- Product type: riflescope
- Magnification: 6-48x
- Objective: 56 mm
- Main tube: 34 mm
- Focal plane: SFP
- Reticle: MIL Competition reticle
- Optics: ED glass, 8x zoom ratio and a large 56 mm objective
- Adjustments: precise MIL adjustments and repeatable turrets intended for competition use
- Use profile: benchrest, F-Class and long-range target shooting
- Using the magnification range: lower power for finding the target and retaining context, higher power for fine detail
- Focal-plane behaviour: the apparent reticle size remains constant as magnification changes
- Mounting: rings or mount sized for the 34 mm main tube; allow objective clearance and correct eye relief
- Zero verification: verify zero and any turret or reticle corrections with the rifle and ammunition actually used
Summary: Vector Optics Continental 6-48x56 ED is a 6-48x SFP riflescope combining a 56 mm objective, MIL Competition reticle, ED glass, 8x zoom ratio and a large 56 mm objective and precise MIL adjustments and repeatable turrets intended for competition use. The package is focused on benchrest, F-Class and long-range target shooting, where optical clarity, a reticle suited to the application and controllable adjustments all matter.
Recommended use: Best suited to users whose primary application is benchrest, F-Class and long-range target shooting. Select magnification to match the situation and verify mounting height, eye relief, zero and the correct use of any MIL or MOA scale before field use.
