KAHLES K18i-2 1-8x24 3GR is a new-generation competition LPVO in which KAHLES has taken the K18i concept further, particularly in field of view and eye box performance. The scope is designed for IPSC and 3-Gun shooting, combining true 1x magnification with 8x top-end magnification.
The most important update is the VISIONFLEX optical design. According to the manufacturer, it provides an 18 percent wider field of view at 1x than the K18i. The field of view reaches 50.0 m / 100 m at 1x and 6.2 m / 100 m at 8x. KAHLES also highlights the more forgiving eye box, which helps the shooter find the sight picture more quickly from rapidly changing shooting positions.
This version has an illuminated 3GR reticle in the second focal plane. Illumination includes the MAXLIGHT function for strong backlighting. The SFP design keeps the apparent reticle size unchanged regardless of magnification.
The click value is 0.1 MRAD / click and total elevation and windage travel are both 24 MRAD. Parallax is fixed at 100 metres and eye relief is 95 mm. The interchangeable throw lever helps the shooter change magnification quickly during a stage.
The K18i-2 uses a 34 mm main tube. It is 300 mm long and weighs 640 g. This is an important difference compared with the older K18i: the K18i-2 delivers a significantly wider field of view and a new optical design, but it is also heavier.
KAHLES K18i-2 1-8x24 3GR is a particularly strong option for dynamic competition shooting when an extremely wide 1x field of view and rapid sight acquisition are top priorities. It offers a clear field-of-view advantage over the previous K18i model.
