Jalmarin Box Trap LRFSS Full Stainless Steel is a Finnish-made, ready-to-use instant-kill trap for catching mink, pine marten and large rats. In the LRFSS model, the striking mechanism and protective housing are made of stainless steel, making the construction highly resistant to weather conditions and long-term outdoor use.
The powerful striking mechanism placed inside the box is triggered when the animal steps on the treadle. The trap is set using the fixed crank on the side of the box, so there is no need to handle the mechanism directly during setting. The same crank also serves as a carrying handle and makes it easier to transport the approximately 5 kg trap to the trapping site.
The trap has a 70 mm entrance opening, and the lower part of the rear section is enclosed so that bait placed inside the box is not directly visible to, for example, birds. The base and treadle are made of wire-mesh-faced film plywood. Openings on the sides allow the trap to be secured in place with a tie-down strap, and a hole in the lid enables the use of a padlock.
LRFSS Full Stainless Steel is a version of Jalmarin Box Trap designed specifically for long-term use and demanding weather conditions.
