Holosun HE509T RD X2 is an enclosed-emitter red dot sight designed for pistols, combining a Grade 5 titanium housing, Multi-Reticle System, Solar Failsafe and Shake Awake. The enclosed design protects the emitter from water, dust and debris more effectively than an open-emitter sight, making the HE509T X2 a strong option for demanding year-round use.
The sight features Holosun's Multi-Reticle System, allowing the user to select a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle or a combination of the two. The small 2 MOA dot provides a precise aiming point, while the large circle helps the eye find the aiming reference quickly. The reticle can therefore be adapted to the intended use without changing the optic.
Solar Failsafe uses available ambient light to support the power supply, while Shake Awake activates the sight when movement is detected and switches the illumination off when the optic is not in use to conserve battery power. The CR1632 battery is replaced from the side, so the sight does not need to be removed from the pistol for a battery change. Holosun states a battery life of up to 50,000 hours at setting 6.
The HE509T X2 uses Holosun's dedicated 509T footprint. An RMR-to-509T adapter plate is included, expanding compatibility with RMR-type optic cuts and adapter plates. Compatibility should still always be confirmed for the specific pistol, optic plate and mounting screws before installation.
The housing is rated to IP67, and Holosun specifies a vibration resistance of 5000 G. Windage and elevation adjustments move in 1 MOA clicks. The compact 0.66 x 0.90 inch window and unlimited eye relief support fast, both-eyes-open aiming.
