Guide Outdoor DN Binoculars Gen2 DN70L are digital night vision binoculars from Guide's DN 2.0 series with a built-in 1200m laser rangefinder. The binoculars are based on a 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) night vision sensor and a bright 70mm F1.8 lens, and are designed for observation during the day, twilight and night.
There are three image modes: day, night and twilight. The image is displayed on a 0.49-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. The basic magnification is 5.4x, and the digital zoom can increase the magnification up to 43.2x. The field of view is 5.9 x 3.5 degrees, which corresponds to an area of approximately 10 x 6 meters at a distance of 100 meters. The observation distance stated by the manufacturer is 1300 m.
In addition to the rangefinder, the binoculars have GPS, a digital compass and a gyroscope, so distance and location information is obtained from the same device. According to the manufacturer, the device also has integrated AI tracking and ballistics calculation.
The binoculars can take photos and 4K video with sound, and there is 128 GB of internal storage. File sharing and management can be done using the TargetIR app, and the device has WiFi (2.4 and 5 GHz) and Bluetooth.
The power source is a dual battery system: a built-in battery and a replaceable 18650 battery. The internal battery supports 18 W fast charging, which charges it to 80 percent in about an hour. The 18650 battery can be replaced during use without turning off the device, and the package comes with two 18650 batteries and a battery charger. The manufacturer's stated operating time is 5 hours.
Focusing is done with a focus wheel, and the buttons are found by feel, which allows for silent one-handed use in the dark. The interpupillary distance is continuously adjustable from 58-72 mm. The proximity sensor-based automatic screen shutdown turns off the screen when the binoculars are lowered from the eyes, which saves power and prevents the screen light from revealing the observer. The body is IP67-rated, and the binoculars weigh 820 g.
