The knife is manufactured in the USA under Gerber's own high quality control. The blade is made from 420HC stainless steel and finished with a ceramic coating that reduces reflections and protects the blade from corrosion. The plain edge blade adapts to many tasks, from general cutting to more demanding field use. Full tang construction means that the steel runs continuously through the entire knife from blade to handle end, which makes the knife extremely durable and reliable even in heavy use. At the end of the handle is a metal striking surface, which can be used to break a window in an emergency if needed.
The handle has a diamond-patterned rubber coating, which ensures a firm grip in all conditions – in wet, cold or sweaty hands alike. The grip feel is carefully thought out, and a solid contact with the tool is quickly achieved even when wearing gloves.
Versatile MOLLE-compatible sheath system
StrongArm comes with a revolutionary sheath system that was the first of its kind in its time. The sheath is compatible with the MOLLE system and can be attached in several different ways depending on the situation: in vertical position with MOLLE attachment, in horizontal position on a belt with detachable belt loops, or in traditional drop-leg position with nylon paracord. Secondary retention ensures that the knife stays firmly in the sheath even during active movement.
