Wapsi Squirrel Tails are perhaps the most traditional material, for example, for hair-winged harling or casting flies. Squirrel is also often used as an underwing because of its stiffness. The mottled and broken shades of the hair please both the angler and the fish. Although squirrel is relatively stiff and straight hair, you can tie flies that swim very well from it, especially for stronger currents. It is an ever-popular material that offers the fly tyer a good wing and tail material at a good price.
