Silvergrey Nutria Zonker Strips are zonker strips made from nutria fur for fly tying. The material combines long guard hairs with a soft, dense underfur, producing a lively and full profile in the water without becoming unnecessarily stiff.
Nutria fur works especially well in streamers, zonker wings and various salmon and predator flies. The long guard hairs add movement and a clear silhouette, while the underfur provides volume. The naturally water-repellent character of the fur also helps keep the material manageable in use.
The strip can be used as a complete zonker wing or cut into smaller sections for collars, tails and other details. It is suitable for both traditional zonker patterns and modern streamers where a naturally moving fur material is wanted.
