Cleaning the line with soap and water removes most dirt, but cleaning pads work even better. A clean line casts better and lasts longer, so a few minutes of maintenance is definitely worth it. When using a cleaning pad, the line is pulled through the pad with light tension until the line's color starts to show on the pad. We recommend cleaning the line every 2–3 fishing trips or whenever dirt affects its performance.
