Rio Bonefish Leader -tapered leaders are, as the name suggests, intended for fishing bonefish and other tropical water fish. The leader, made of stiffer than usual nylon, is ideal for casting in strong winds and with larger, heavier flies. The advantages of nylon are its slow sinking, high tensile strength, easy knotting, and excellent knot durability.
Rio Bonefish -tapered leaders are 10 feet long, so you don't necessarily need a tippet line at all, but you can tie the fly directly to the end of the tapered leader. However, in calm and clear weather, we recommend adding a 0.5-1m tippet to the end of the leader.
