Metz Grade 2 Rooster Saddle

Metz #2 Rooster Saddle - dry fly saddles are a trusted item for many fly tyers. Metz introduced genetically bred dry fly hackles to the market in the early 1970s, and since then, Metz has set the standard that other breeders have tried to achieve. For many, Metz is the only true hackle manufacturer. Dry fly hackles have stiff barbs, and the amount of underfluff is moderate. From one saddle feather, you can tie several flies at best, and there is hardly any waste. Metz #2 Rooster Saddle is so-called grade 2, which does not mean that they are bad feathers, but there are slightly fewer of them in the saddle than in grade 1. Also, grade 2 hackles are typically suitable for slightly larger flies, making them excellent for Nordic conditions. The most suitable feathers are found for #8-12 sized dry flies, but the saddle also contains good material for large salmon dry flies, such as Bombers. The length of the feathers is about 15-25cm.
