Wake Pelagear imitates prey fish found in the pelagic zone, such as bleak, herring, smelt, etc. - shiny, small, often narrow-shaped parts of the predator fish food chain. The Wake Pelagear jigs, made from elastic material, are suitable for both traditional casting jigging and vertical jigging. If you want more lively swimming action, cut open the grooves in front of the tail. You can also cut off the head of the lure behind the gill arch if you want the round jig head to fit the lure better. The larger, 8" size Pelagear is an excellent tool for pike fishing among weeds and reed stubs. Rig the 8" Pelagear with a #8-10 offset hook so you can fish effectively in areas with denser vegetation.
