Okuma Guide Selection Ruoto Special

Okuma Guide Select Perch & Zander Ruoto Special - are Ruoto's own special rods in the Okuma Guide Select rod series. These rods are made for us Finns and our Finnish conditions. The Okuma Guide Select Perch & Zander Ruoto Special spinning rods are designed and made for perch and zander casting jigging. During the rod development process, Okuma's product development collaborated with Ruoto's staff regarding both the function and appearance of the rod. The rod has been tested throughout the open water season of 2022 by several Finnish anglers.

Okuma Guide Select Perch & Zander Ruoto Special rods feel significantly more expensive than they are because the rods are light and balanced, making it easy to build a functional setup combined with a quality 1000-size spinning reel.  

The rod's unique appearance, which deviates from the mainstream, appeals to the Finnish soulscape – after all, it is a product designed only for Finland. The rod's blue and white handle is made of EVA foam, which feels warm, provides a firm grip, and is easy to keep clean.

• Okuma Guide Select 7'4" 7-23g
  As a softer and longer version, an excellent rod for perch fishing with lures, spintail baits, and trolling jigs, but also works great for bottom jigging.
• Okuma Guide Select Perch & Zander 6'7" 10-28g
  A powerful blank that allows you to fish perch and zander effectively. An excellent rod for bottom jigging, but also works with heavier lures, blade, and spintail baits for perch and zander.

@teamrapalafinland tested the rod during the 2022 season: We have fished with Okuma Guide Select Perch & Zander Special rods throughout the open water season of 2022. We used the rods for casting jigging and also some perch live precision fishing.   We used Okuma ITX 1000 and Helios 1000 reels with the rods, as well as the new Sufix 91 G-Braid multi-fiber line.

We used the Perch Crank Special 7'4" rod for casting fishing using lures (e.g., Rippin Rap, Shad Rap Elite, Shad Dancer, and Countdown Elite) and weighted spinners (Storm Gomoku Spin). Throwing traditional lures and especially the new Elite series casting lures surprisingly far is easy. This rod made us throw lures more often. During the season, we found that perch casting with lures is a darn fun activity 

Casting with the Perch & Zander Special rod is effortless, hooking the fish is precise, and tiring the fish is enjoyable. Not once did the rod's features fall short – the largest test specimens during the season were a 103 cm pike caught as a bycatch and, among the target fish, a 45 cm perch and a 73 cm zander. We can unanimously state that this is an exceptionally successful rod. Even though the team had rods three to five times more expensive at their disposal – we did not miss other rods throughout the season!
