Kuusamon Uistin Santeri 11cm 11g is an effective wobbler for pike and zander trolling. In 2013, lure designer Jyri Junttila created the first version of the Santeri lure. Then several experienced troller fishers from all over Finland joined the development team to create a lure whose swimming action is easy to adjust for each situation.
It is widely known in angling circles that zander's preferences for lure action can vary even daily. Professional anglers know that by adjusting the swimming action of a lure even slightly, miracles can be achieved. Adjusting the Santeri lure has been facilitated by adding a slightly larger nose loop to it. An oval-shaped saddle flap was chosen as the swimming plate for the lure, as a lure equipped with such a plate can withstand different towing speeds without problems.
Because the lure's swimming action is adjusted from the nose loop, special attention has been paid to its durability. Lure designers have tested that its loops can withstand up to 25 kg of tension. The body is made of solid, durable plastic, so it cannot crack or let water in. Santeri is specially designed for zander, but it also catches pike and trout. Test teams have caught several pike weighing over 10 kg with it during the summer of 2015.
Although the lure is specially designed for trolling, it is also suitable for casting. Santeri is made of a plastic with a density close to that of water. This means that the lure is relatively heavy for its size and flies well. If a heavier steel leader is used, Santeri turns into a so-called suspending lure. This means that the lure neither floats nor sinks, but maintains its depth. Many active pike anglers appreciate suspending lures because the hovering lure has been found to induce pike to strike.
