Avignon Polar Winter Boot - with extra warm insulation
Polar is a winter boot designed for maximum function and comfort in the same winter boot.
With a Comfort Rating to -40 ° ensures a warm and comfortable boot even at more extreme temperatures.
Polar is a Neoprene boot that combines the best of two worlds, the waterproof rubber boot and the Neoprene heat insulating properties.
The boot's combination of natural rubber and Neoprene provides an extremely flexible boot shaft that ensures the best comfort and ease of use. A rigid boot shaft affects the foot movement in the shoes and may mean that the boot is perceived as difficult to use for extended periods of use and load. The natural rubber is also specially made to avoid harsh wintertime, which gives optimum compliance even at lower temperatures and more extreme climates.
Polar has an 8.5 mm thick Neoprene lining which ensures extra good insulation from external cold. The neoprene lining is SCR-classified and consists of a mixture of neoprene and synthetic polymer SBR. The mixture provides elasticity at low temperatures and high insulation capacity. Basically, these foam materials are closed cells so that moisture will not penetrate, giving the boot high insulation and making it easier.
The midsole in the boot is made of EVA, an insulating shock absorbing material that effectively counteracts cooling from the ground cooler. The insulation from the ground cold is especially important for longer periods of stagnant winter time.
Polar is also constructed with an anatomical foot section which, like a walking boot, stabilizes the foot and contributes to a more stable step. The combination of the boot heel heel and mid-foot support, provides extra stability and control even on uneven surfaces. The front foot of Aspen High is equipped with a sturdy roller sole. Roll sole is standard on all jogging shoes and hiking boots and helps to facilitate the step in the best possible way and simplifies winding down in normal walking.
The Polar insole is made of 5 mm thick EVA, with an upper layer of polyester. The EVA material has the same properties as a sleeping pad, to stop the cold from the slopes. The sole also has small perforations, which help to remove perspiration from the foot.
The bottom sole is made of carbon rubber with extreme wear resistance and has a grip pattern that ensures attachment regardless of the surface.
The boot shaft is bevelled with a lower rear portion to facilitate normal loading and also relieve pressure over the calf. Sloped shank is standard on hiking boots and an appreciated feature on Polar.
At the back of the heel cap is a powerful kick-off that facilitates the removal of the boot without hands.
Polar is manufactured in size from 37-47, and is equally suitable for men and women.
