Nevercold hand warmers are designed to be used inside gloves as a comfortable and effective source of additional warmth. The warmer can be placed inside the glove at a desired location to heat the palm or fingertips, for example. Nevercold hand warmers can also be used for other purposes, such as keeping a mobile phone, camera, or other electronic devices' batteries warm in freezing conditions.
Nevercold hand warmers are small pillow-like pouches made of porous material, filled with a mixture of vermiculite, iron powder, wood powder, activated charcoal, and salt. When the surrounding packaging of the pouch is opened, the mixture reacts with the air, producing heat. This reaction continues automatically for 10 hours. The heat production can be paused by transferring the pouch to an oxygen-free place, such as an airtight bag, allowing the use of the warmer to be resumed later.
