Spirit River UV2 Super Hair

UV2 Super Hair is a wavy nylon fiber that is very well suited for various small fish flies. Super Hair is a popular material in sea fishing and is an excellent material for Surf Candy-type ties. Super Hair allows light to pass through beautifully, making the flies tied from it naturally translucent. The fibers of Super Hair are thin but strong, so the flies tied from it do not tangle easily.  

 

These synthetic fibers have undergone Spirit River's UV2 dyeing, which enhances the materials' reflectivity of ultraviolet rays and visibility to fish. The two-part UVF+UVR dyeing affects as follows

• The UVF process, or UV Fluorescence, makes the materials fluorescent. This phenomenon is especially noticeable in bright colors, even to the human eye. 
• The UVR process, or UV Reflectance, enhances the materials' ability to reflect UV rays, which are invisible to the human eye. This feature helps, for example, birds and insects to find different targets in nature.
