Scientific Anglers Sonar Grand Slam Clear Tip is a tropical fly line with a sinking tip, designed specifically for anglers targeting large game fish such as tarpon, bonefish, and permit with a single line. This line combines a popular saltwater taper with a clear intermediate tip, designed for particularly wary fish.
The line's 8-foot clear intermediate sinking tip helps deliver the fly to the fish's reach. The line is overweighted by 0.75 weight classes, enabling quick rod loading. Its short and powerful head efficiently turns over long leaders and heavy flies. The Tropi-Core technology ensures the line remains stiff and slick in tropical conditions. The sink rate of the sinking tip is 1.25 inches per second (Intermediate).

Cleaning the line with soap and water removes most dirt, but cleaning pads work even better. When properly cleaned, the line casts better and lasts longer. When using a cleaning pad, squeeze the pad around the line so that the abrasive side contacts the line, and pull the line through the pad under tension. Repeat the process until the pad shows the line's color. Clean the line every 2-3 fishing trips or whenever dirt hinders its performance.
