These lines feature all the technology that can currently be incorporated into a fly line. Utilizing these technologies, an extremely slick shooting line has been achieved, yet it remains well-controlled in the hands, flying smoothly with a tight loop. The new Smooth lines are completely smooth in the running line section, with only the tip of the line featuring a texture that enhances buoyancy.

Scientific Anglers Amplitude Smooth ART fly lines are so-called "all-purpose lines." The ART abbreviation stands for All Round Taper, which describes the line very well. The line is half a class heavier, making it very easy to cast, and the taper is designed to perform well in most situations encountered. The short front taper turns over large flies but is not too steep for small dry flies. The relatively long belly and moderately steep rear taper improve the line's roll casting capabilities.
