Fish Skull Senyo's Articulated Shank - the shanks are designed for modern salmon and steelhead flies, where instead of a hook, the fly is tied to a hookless shank, and the hook is attached to a wire loop at the back of the fly. The most well-known fly of this style is certainly the Intruder made famous by Ed Ward, which was originally intended for king salmon fishing, but later it has been found to be an excellent steelhead fly for winter, high water conditions. The advantage of the shank over tubes is its thinner profile, and thus better sinking ability. You can of course add more weight to your flies if you wish, for example with weighted eyes or by wrapping lead wire around the shank.
Fish Skull Senyo's Articulated Shank - shanks are delivered in packs of 20 and are available in 5 different colors for different situations. There are two different lengths available, 25mm and 40mm, which cover most fishing situations.
